Why do you miss a workout?

The key to success with any workout program is consistency, but sometimes our lives have distractions that try and sideline our results. Recently we asked our Fit Habitat Facebook fans what caused them to miss a workout. See what they answered below:

How can I stay on track with my workout routine?

 

Set a schedule:
Just like your kids have a set time to go to soccer practice, you too should have a set time to workout. Actually take time to write out a schedule of when you are going to workout and do not let anything interrupt your schedule. Depending on your schedule you may want to set your exercise time for early in the morning to avoid any interruptions. If you schedule your workout for early in the mornings no matter what happens during the day you will have already completed your workout.

 

Choose a program that works with your schedule:
Depending on what your fitness goals are you need a program that fits your schedule. If you are current goals are just to lose weight this can be done with programs in as little as 25 minutes. If your aspirations are to be a marathoner or a triathlete you will need to find more time during the day. You may find that you need at a minimum an hour or more depending on your fitness goals.

 

Cut out the television:
If you have even 25 minutes to watch television than you have no excuse not to be fit. Cut down the television time in exchange for your workout time. You will feel much more satisfied after completing your exercise for the day then knowing who thought they could dance, or who thinks they have talent.

 

Find an accountability partner: 
Having someone you are accountable to can greatly improve your desire to workout. This can be a workout partner at home or an online friend. There are Facebook fitness groups with plenty of people looking for someone to be accountable to. By working together with someone else you can make sure you are on track to get the results that both of you want.
